Tomorrow is the big showdown between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. The two teams will battle it out in front of thousands of fans live in the Lucas Oil Stadium. As fans prep their favorite snacks and decorate their homes with the colors of the team with which their loyalties rest, police in New York are preparing DUI checkpoints and increased drunk driving enforcement.

Agencies and advocacy groups such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Traffic Safety Coalition and Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists have released traffic stats used to urge motorists to drive sober and prompt law enforcement offices to make multiple arrests. The NHTSA also cautions individuals who host a party that they could be held liable if they provided alcohol to a person who later causes an accident.

With increased focus on drunk driving arrest statistics, police officers will have a zero tolerance policy -- arresting those who's BAC rises even a fraction over .08 -- and could even become hasty in administering field sobriety tests which are often unreliable.

DUI convictions have serious consequences, including driver's license suspension, heavy fines, a criminal record or even jail time.
